Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the coordination and implementation of Early Head Start programming. Educates and supports expectant parents, and families of infants and toddlers in home and group settings. Individualized approved curriculum to meet the needs of each child and family. ;Educates and supports families in school readiness; parent, family and community engagement; and self-sufficiency.
Job Qualifications:
Qualifications:  Early Head Start Home Base Educator $19.58/hr
Minimum Bachelor’s degree with valid Minnesota Pre-K, or Birth to grade 3 license, Social Work or related degree
Experience working with infants, toddlers, and expectant parents 
Current Infant/Child CPR/First Aid Certificate or must be able to obtain
Computer/ Technology skills 
Regularly lifts 50 pounds and occasionally more 
Valid driver’s license- Extensive travel of service area
Background study required

Essential Functions:
Schedules, plans, and implements  individualized and group programming based on the identified needs of expectant parents and  families of
        infants/toddlers
Trains, educates, and facilitates developmentally appropriate cognitive, social, emotional, physical, language and literacy skills
Trains, educates, facilitates, and implements health, social service, safety, nutrition and mental health services in collaboration with
program managers, staff, consultants and community partners
Responsible for computerized data collection, entry, reporting, analyzing, and supporting child outcomes as mandated by federal,
state and local regulations
Conducts individual child screenings and collaborates with Public Health to conduct prenatal screenings
Refers and assists in development and implementation of federal, state and locally mandated regulations: Planned and
        Documented Interventions, Individual Interagency Intervention Plans,  and Individual Health Plans
Manages site budget, equipment, materials and supplies
Implements and supports program and individual school readiness goals, Parent, Family, and Community Engagement goals and activities,
        and refers EHS participants to appropriate community resources based upon identified needs
Develops and implements individualized Family Partnership Agreements with families to identify strengths, goals and strategies toward
        achieving self-sufficiency
Recruits and enrolls potential Head Start families in addition to assisting with community outreach projects, programs, and public relations
Is a Mandated Reporter
